Day 22 of the Crafted Christmas Advent and no, today’s post is not about prosecco! It is about the Snowflake Coasters!
I made this linocut for my first craft fair and decided to re-print them this year for the advent calendar.
The designs are a positive and negative of the same snowflake design which I printed on recycled board beer mats. You can buy them as blanks in circles and squares and they are great for printing on. I used oil-based inks so that they would not run if the mat got wet.
I also used the blank mats to make labels for the kids teacher presents and they stamped them with some Christmas polymer stamps I bought in a craft shop. I then made a hole using a hole punch and threaded a ribbon though, tying it to a tiny bottle of fizz. All teacher deserve a treat after all the craziness of Christmas at school!
So I am raising my glass to everyone who has been following the advent calendar and wishing you all the best for the new year. Only two more days left to go!
